Part 1: CAP Bay Area Scholarship
Welcome to Part 1 of the CAP Bay Area scholarship application.
The deadline for Part 1 is December 11, 2018.
Here is some important information to keep in mind as you move forward in the application process:
As part of the Making Waves Foundation’s commitment to rigorously and holistically prepare students to gain acceptance to and graduate from college, the College and Alumni Program focuses on coaching students to achieve college and life success along with providing an annual scholarship.
College Coaching: The College and Alumni Program is committed to a college coaching model focused on the areas of academic, social/emotional, and professional growth. College coaches provide one-on-one coaching to our Wave-Makers. Each session is focused on ensuring Wave-Makers raise their GPA while in college, earn full-time units, and make steady progress toward earning their Bachelor’s degree within five years.
Need-Based Scholarship: College and Alumni Program scholars will receive access to a need-based scholarship of up to $5,000 annually to remove financial barriers to a timely graduation.
- High school seniors graduating in the class of 2019
- Planning to attend a 4-year college or university
- Expected Family Contribution (EFC) below $5,000 (from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid – FAFSA)
- Residence in one of the nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma
